We Are
The Host Project
Having shared my home for the past ten years, I know the positive impact
home sharing has had on the local community.
About the Project
It started with renting out a spare room to make ends meet, then my entire home when I left town to visit family on the west coast.

All walks of life would come through my door, from the local New Yorker who needed a place to host his visiting family, to the group of students who couldn't afford to each get a hotel room for their school trip.
One thing was always the same, they treated my place as their own, showing respect to the building and the local community. When I would clean at the end of their stay I'd always find boxes from the mom & pop pizzeria, shopping bags from the local retailers.

This isn't the narrative the hotel industry wants you to believe. The big money behind the special interest hotel lobby want to label me a criminal and my business illegal. Instead of evolving to stay competitive, they see eliminating the competition as the easier path.
The Hard Truth
5/1/23
All the platforms will start enforcing a registration process in NYC. Your listing will be deactived.
LA
Los Angeles has forced all the platforms, VRBO, Airbnb, Booking.com to require registration numbers, just as New York will in May.
Hotel >
You ?
This is all due to the special interests of the hotels. Uber had to fight the yellow cabs to survive, but had much greater resources. We need YOU to join the fight.
Creating an alterative to the major platforms.
So that's why you are here! If I list my one property on our new website, that alone will not be very useful. We need hundreds of amazing handpicked hosts like yourself to create a marketplace that has the inventory worth visiting and the budget to be seen.
